RBS Engineer

Job Description:

·         Integration and testing the Cell Sites.

·         Troubleshoot hardware and software. 

·         Complete site audit and survey to determine requirements and layout for cell site equipment including power, antennas and Telco when required for co-sitting. 

·         Analyze statistics and network data collections for solution recommendation. 

·         Coordinate with RF planning department in terms of capacity, quality and coverage for expansion phases. 

·         Perform needed diagnostics of all cell site equipment. 

·         Monitor traffic growth, congestion levels, fractional load, STS data, marketing plans & hardware constraints to prepare and prioritize radio growth. 

·         Prepare site-specific managed object (HW) and cell RF DT scripts to support BTS extension cabinets and radio installation, integration, activation and testing

·         Perform expansion and modifications of cell sites, including call testing to ensure proper call set-up

·         Analyze the radio network performance including coverage, penetration, handoff function, power control and interference and report results to engineering

·         Diagnostic testing on the RBS to isolate Radio Channel/Antenna faults

·         Troubleshoot RBS using WILTRON tool and analyze the RBS using the SITEMASTER tool

·         Coordinate with the Technical Operating Center on the RBS Critical and Major faults resolution

 

Requirements for this position include: 

 

·         Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, telecommunications or computer science discipline; and 3 years minimum work experience in related field  OR  Associates degree, in an engineering, telecommunications or computer science discipline; and 7 years minimum work experience in related field

·         Possess good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.

·         Must speak, read and write in the English language

 

Switch Engineer

Job Description:

·         Maintain the integrity of multiple Base Station Controllers (BSC’s), Mobile Switching Centers (MSC’s), Transport Equipment and numerous network elements they contain.

·         Analysis, investigation and troubleshooting of reported cases in BTS, BSC, MSC, HLR, AXE (APT and APZ architecture), IOG and APG platforms including Group Switch, Trunk and Signaling.

·         Perform routine maintenance of hardware and software, system backups, verification testing and software upgrades. Run consistency check on a routine basis

·         Implement standardization in the network.

·         Interpret reports utilizing troubleshooting skills to identify, localize and resolve complex system hardware software problems.

·         Perform acceptance tests and integration of new services, features, functions and nodes

·         Write reasonable data translations with the ability to correct existing DT. This shall include but is not limited to Hardware Configuration and Traffic

·         Interface to the OSS platform to perform various activities

·         Perform cell site re-home, BTS change-out and T1 re-groom

·         Monitor network KPI’s, traffic growth, congestion levels, fractional load, STS data, marketing plans & hardware constraints to prepare and prioritize radio (TRU) growth

·         Implement BTS configuration changes to support traffic growth

·         Write technical instructions, Methods of Procedures (MOP) and Job Information Memorandums (JIM)

·         Trouble Ticket (TT) and Change Request (CR) handling in Resolution/Remedy system

·         Assist Wireless Technicians and vendors with restoration activities when service impairments occur

·         Able to perform pre-install, site doc, equipment delivery, receive equipment, site layout and equipment inspection

·         Update/prepare as-built drawings after installation

 

Requirements for this position include:

 

·         Bachelors degree, in an engineering, telecommunications or computer science discipline; and 3 years minimum work experience in related field OR Associates degree, in an engineering, telecommunications or computer science discipline; and 7 years minimum work experience in related field

·         Possess good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment

·         Work well with customers under limited supervision

·         Must be able to speak, read and write in the English language

·         Knowledge of PC Operations and administrative site reporting programs

·         Ability to deal with high demands/workload and emergency handling
